Though Google’s AdSense is the most popular vehicle for earnings in the Internet marketing world, it’s not the only way to make money with your website or blog. Let’s look at some of other methods for monetizing your virtual real estate:
1) Find another contextual advertising company
Several other companies act a lot like AdSense, though they’re not backed by Google. This tends to give people lots of confidence, and they shy away from other resources. But you can go to Yahoo, Azoogle, or Bidvertizer and find relatively the same thing as AdSense and they’re all reputable companies. You can place the ads just as you would AdSense and be paid per click.
2) Use image ads
These ads include pictures, and they’re no harder to use than pay-per-click. Russell Brunson’s Affiliate Power Ads, Chitika, or Auction Ads are examples of this type of ad. Just watch them to be sure they’re following the theme of your website. For instance, if you’re in the Internet marketing niche and write about list building, you might find building supplies in the ads on your site. You don’t want that because it makes no sense. Though some people interested in list building for Internet marketing purposes might be interested in building supplies, the number would be so minimal that you won’t make much money, if any at all. The other aspect of image ads that’s different from pay per click is that you only get paid when someone buys a product.
3) Take advantage of affiliate programs with advertising materials
When you’re interested in signing up as an affiliate for a product or service that you’re using and enjoy, check their available advertising materials. Some companies house banner or button images on their own servers, but if not, you’ll have to upload them to your own server, and may have to code the links to them yourself. If you’re handy with HTML, this isn’t a big issue, but the best situation will always be when you only have to copy a link, put it on your site, and be on your way.
4) Try PPA
Pay-per-action has become so popular online that even Google is getting into the act. This means that visitors not only click on the ad on your site, but they take action on whatever the campaign is. It could be applying for a credit card, accepting a free product for name and email address, or it could mean completing a survey. If your visitor does whatever is required, you earn a commission.
5) Become a reviewer
Nothing in Internet marketing is more powerful than word of mouth. Because everyone is so isolated, and because there are so many scammers out there, people aren’t sure whom to trust. But if you create a well-written article that gives the pros and cons of using a product or service and recommends it to others, you’ll probably make some sales.
Monetizing your website or blog has never been easier in the history of Internet marketing. Try some of these services and test to see which works best for you.
