The truth of the matter is this: There are very few real “secrets” in the internet marketing industry. Anyone who is selling a secret is probably just selling information, facts, or principles that they know, but you don’t. But they are probably not the only person who knows that information.
At its core, internet marketing is very simple. There are actually only two steps to internet marketing. The first step is to get people who are interested in what you have to offer to visit your website. The second step is to get those people to buy your products or service.
Pretty much every internet marketing strategy is designed to do one or both of those things. If you do those two things well, you will succeed. If you do both exceptionally well, you will likely become quite wealthy.
Now, when I say there are very few real secrets in the internet marketing world, I do not mean that there is no room for ingenuity. I know of and use several “secrets” – systems or concepts that people have developed to do a certain aspect of internet marketing better.
You should always be on the lookout for better, cheaper, and more effective ways of promoting your products and services, and converting visitors into buyers. Internet marketing is a fast changing industry – the day you stop learning, your business will start to slowly (or not so slowly) shrivel up and die. One of the best ways to keep learning is by participating in active webmaster and internet marketing forums.
